Rainy Day in July

I decided to take a day off from my writing, editing, and corrections to spend the day with my friend Judy Berg, a member of the PNW Cornish Society. She lives in Fullerton, California and she and her husband Hank spend a month at the Coromants Oregon Coast in Depot Bay every year. Due to the nasty rainy weather, we decided to stay close in and took a little road trip through Toledo, stopping at the waterfront park and then to Yaquina Bay Road. The 12-mile long road ends at Bay Front in Newport. There was a lot to see in that short distance, and we took a lot of pictures. It was a fun ride, and we finished it off with a delicious lunch at Canyon Way Bookstore and Café. They have been at the same location, one owner, for 48 years. The food was delicious, and the bookstore was fun with a variety of unique books and gifts. Our last stop was at the Historic Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, built in 1871 the oldest one on the coast located at the North end of the Newport Bridge.
